Today is hump day. At least for me! I've resolved to blog math every day for a month and today is the halfway point of the month. Half a month left until someone wins a Fibonacci potholder (click here for details). In honor of the day, I've created a Facebook page for you to like if you don't use RSS feeds.
I thought you might enjoy entries in my captain idea log for the past three days. The flowers are my latest efforts in playing around with curve stitching. The checkerboard was inspired by a kindred spirit who shared a link about optical illusions with me.

Feel free to download and try out the PDF with dots set up for the six petal flower. I was going offer both but something isn't making sense in my leaps between two different coordinate systems. I think my body is fighting a cold. Not only that, I may very well figure it out in the morning when I wake up with a flushed brain.
Flushed brain? A study released last fall reveals how, while we sleep, the brain flushes out toxins that build up during the day. It explains why we sometimes wake up with answers in the morning and it brings new meaning to the phrase “learning by osmosis while sleeping"!
